A Life Like Helen Keller

"The kaleidoscope of colour which is my life, shows the interesting choices I've made along the way."   ~Antie Koekie

I have seen only a few lives like that
the ones that stradle time with tattered wing piercing through the barbed wire fence of all we perceive that cannot be they defy the odds as if miracle's child reaching out with a unrelenting force holding a will to thrive instead of survive within their chest making us believe in the beauty of adversity's strength to charge us onward to the place no one dared tread proving the human spirit is both resilient and a vision to behold.

I have always been in awe of the life of Helen Keller. and all that she achieved in her lifetime.  She overcame so many obstacles that most of us would have not attempted.  She is truly one of my heroes of the 1900's.  She gave humanity so much beauty and strength of spirit.  Her sparkling life will certainly be shining through out time.   For in the end we are not remembered for …

The Powerful Gentleman

Image
"And he departed from our sight that we might return to our heart, and there find Him.  For He departed, and behold, He is here."  ~St Augustine

He came into this world not on a lion's throne but in a stable with the gentle lamb. He walked among the many, The One, The great I Am. He reached into their hearts, and planted seeds of hope with care. He had a mighty message that He gently had to share. He did not wear a crown of jewels, nor bear a shiny sword. He only had a crown of thorns and a cross was all he bore. He could have put up a great fight, or called the angels to, but all He said was, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do." Now he stands at your heart's door, and he could break through if He chose, but He will only gently knock, and then He will quietly go. Such a powerful decision, Jesus allows us to be the ones to make. Still powerful He died for all of us, and now our decision Jesus gently awaits.

A Thirsty Place

"Loneliness is the most terrible poverty."  ~Mother Teresa

I got a glimpse of it in a homeless man's eyes
I heard it in a poverty stricken child's cry
I felt it in a widowed woman's grasp
I tasted it in the kiss of a love I once had
I mingled with it holding a bottle of champagne
I fled from it once in a crowded jet plane
Yet no matter where I go or choose to stay
Loneliness is always a thirsty place.

Just A Glimmer

Image
With just a glimmer of strength you could stop the raging sea. With just a glimmer of grace you could set the captives free. With just a glimmer of hope you could clear a stormy sky. With just a glimmer of light you could make a rainbow in the night. With just a glimmer of faith you could heal a world of scars. With just a glimmer of love you could build a bridge between two hearts. With just a glimmer of truth you could open up people's eyes accross the land. With just a glimmer of compassion the whole world could reach out a helping hand. With just a glimmer of forgiveness you could turn a war into peace. With just a glimmer of God all mankind would fall down to his knees.

A Dixie Cup In An Ocean of Chance

"Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers." ~Garth Brooks

What might have been is like countless raindrops in the desert sands it was just never meant to be.

I have often wondered why things work out in life the way they do....why do some people have so many struggles, and others have so many successes....but as time has gone by...and I have learned a few lessons along the way...I have come to understand that we should try the best we can right where we are in our life, but no matter how big our plans may be....we are truly like a dixie cup in an ocean....for God always has a bigger plan.
