Gentleness can be taught in the slow tender stroke of years

But in its essence, it is either already resting in the heart of its holder

Or absolutely nowhere near

You can lead a biker to a bar

But you can’t make him drink

And getting him to stop

May be harder than you think

You can place a kitten in his arms

But whether he holds it tenderly

Is out of your hands

So my advice to you is

Never hand a kitty to anyone 

Except a loving woman or man.

~Just for the record I have nothing against biker dudes.  In fact I find them quite intriguing, especially if they are not afraid to hold a kitten sweetly and enjoy it.~

The heart is a crazy bag lady that carries all it hears for keeps
and the mind stirs the contents like a soup to cook and feed
sometimes just one bite can leave a bitter taste
making an entire meal become an utter waste.

Words take flight on a silent breeze but they do not softly break a heart
and once they are truly free they do not soon depart
they fester like a neglected wound and linger like an unwanted guest
causing a deep discomfort and stealing peace like gold from a treasure chest


There is a heavy weight that words have the strength to bear
 so they can lift a spirit and send it high into the air
but when they are bitter they have the power to oppress
striping away self-worth like lovers get undressed


The heart is a crazy bag lady that carries all it hears for keeps
and the mind mulls over the contents like a tourist whose lost their keys
so next time someone offends you with words that cut to the core
remember when it comes to an argument sometimes less is more.

It's simple just use the words in the list.  At least 3 of them that is. :-)

 

 

It is a complete mystery what lies within a woman's heart.

It's got a crazy stowaway that yarns flowers in the dark.

It becomes a garden of riddles that speak only to the blind.

It creates a high pitched sound that no man could ever choose to find.

All the lost love that is packaged is saved for a lover from the past

where regrets and favorite longings become legends that don't die fast.

For no animal great nor small can look head on and not be stunned

so cup your ears and watch television cause the truth will kill ya like a gun.

One of my favorite movies is like so many women "Titanic", and I love the quote by Rose "A woman's heart is a deep ocean of secrets. "  I remember the first time I saw the movie, and I heard those words.  I could not get over how true that was.  There are just some things that a woman knows in her heart that she never shares with another human being.

I am a home with intricate carvings
 inside are many rooms
and lovely windows to the outer walls.

I can see out to many different views,
yet onlookers can never see within my inner halls.

I stand strong on a foundation of love
that in devotion truly abides.

Yet I fall hard with an awkward grace
when I allow someone new to come inside.

I contain a menagerie of glass illusions
a collection of keep sakes of the unsaid.

For I am a fortress with many corridors
that few will ever truly tread.
