How can we know the dancer from the dance? ~William Butler Yeats
Sometimes humanity resembles the dancers on a dance floor;
each busily perfecting their moves,
never seeing passed their own steps,
hoping to impress
all the others...
but it is in vain...
for all the others
are doing the same.
Dancing with yourself... yes I know that's what we all are doing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a commentary on where we are these days. Great write! Thanks for writing for the prompt!
ReplyDeleteVery well put (this is why some dancers are better than others)
ReplyDeleteI LIKE that poem! True message. So true...
ReplyDeleteWise observation. Works the same when they talk too. I love reading you, Carrie.
ReplyDeleteI love the shape of this poem, Carrie, and the image of humanity perfecting its moves.
ReplyDeleteGet that feeling, all of us, that we are or want to be one of the stars. Mustn't slip. Try to be and stay at the front, in view. Hoping that everybody is watching (us). Nice write, Carrie.
