Sometimes Mother Nature has the answers when you do not even know the questions. ~Keith Wynn
I fear you have not truly been listening my dear
I have been speaking for centuries and
you are still sipping your coffee gone cold
behind that shroud of a paper
without a response
nor even a glance
what did I just say?
No I did not just say it is cold in here
on the contrary it is getting quite warm
warmer than my heart can handle
I fear you have not truly been listening my dear
I have been speaking for centuries and
you are still sipping your coffee gone cold
behind that shroud of a paper
without a response
nor even a glance
what did I just say?
No I did not just say it is cold in here
on the contrary it is getting quite warm
warmer than my heart can handle
there was a time you listened to my voice
loved the feel of my breath upon your face
you climbed my mountains
did not want to cut my trees
I guess you have had a change of heart
your love for me has grown as cold
as my ice caps used to hold strong
I guess it is going to take something drastic
to make you care again
to make you have a change of heart
I hope then you will truly listen
to my voice.
It seems to take serious lessons for humans to learn anything. I really like this poem, Carrie.
ReplyDeleteYikes! You found one of her voices for sure!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! We better listen.
ReplyDeleteThat drastic event is quite scary....
ReplyDeleteSadly it is just these pesky humans that are causing the problem. I am sure there will be something up nature's sleeve to rid the planet of us.
ReplyDeleteGood one it is time that people should listen before it is too late
ReplyDeleteThings are not looking good and getting worse in the environment. Time to wake up and listen !
ReplyDeleteYes, that's the voice of a good, loving and stern Mother. She'll make Her children listen someday, surely.
ReplyDeleteThe lessons are there if we only listen to them.
ReplyDeleteto make you have a change of heart
ReplyDeleteI hope then you will truly listen
to my voice.
How we have allowed humanity to alter nature's course to result in lots of inconveniences but nature moves on undeterred!
Hank
We really do need a change of heart. It is time for us to really LISTEN & then change our ways along with our heart.
ReplyDeletefascinating poem, Works Out As A Poem About Nature OR THE Person On THE Other Side OG THE Kitchen table, Goes Good With THE Selfie
ReplyDeleteYes, we need to start treating ecology with some degree of seriousness and for that, we need a change of heart. Beautiful poem! Lovely..
ReplyDeleteWe are very disrespectful of nature, sadly....
ReplyDeleteA lovely personification. I do hope this marriage is not irrevocably doomed! (And that she doesn't have to throw too many big tantrums in order to be heard.)
ReplyDeletei really agree with this. sigh. well done
ReplyDelete"what did I just say?"
ReplyDeleteSomething both haunting and comforting about that line.
