Speed Racer

Linking with Imaginary Gardens for "Flash Fiction 55"

The Future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of sixty minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is. ~C.S. Lewis

55 words below:

Here I am fifty one
not everyone in my family
makes it that far
I guess you could say
I am winning a race
I did not know I was running
trying to get to the finish line
I just want to make it there
without getting there
even faster than
the speed of light.

  2. With days whizzing by, it is sometimes hard to take things slow!

  3. Time seems to accelerate the more we wish it would slow down--but it's only the moment we are in that we can know. Great 55.

  5. 60 minutes every hour - we are all allotted the same per hour. What amazes me is how some use it much more wisely than others. Yes, NO hurry :)

  6. And isn't that how we roll these days it seems...to me. Nicely captured, Carrie!

  7. Yes, we often come to realize we are in a race and don't remember setting out to be in one! I'm glad you joined us for 55, and I love the cool stuff on your side bar and background!

  8. That race we all know.. Sometimes I know it's a race I wish I could take even slower...

  9. Short races are all right, but keeping them going forever can really ruin our journey... perhaps the destination, too.

  10. Don't rush there too quickly. I often have to remind myself. I will never be as young as I am right this minute. Smiles.
