"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience."
~Teilhard de Chardin
This world is but an aquarium that is the place that we now swim.
It is not the destination nor is it where we once had been.
Our time here is brief like snowflakes floating under glass,
as we glide in these waters with particles from the past.
We voyage forward within the confines of this space,
in a constant pool of learning, preparing for a better place.
Like a fish out of water......or a star out of sky,
this is not our home;
it is a stepping stone for you and I.
I like this a lot, Carrie. You have a way of tipping your head just so and thinking thoughts I don't think to think. I really like your background, btw. I can't tell you how many similar images I have saved in Pinterest; I have an old dictionary from which I want to make a flower wreath. Hope you're doing well, Friend!
ReplyDeleteI really like this! Your words in contrast to the image. So many people are shackled to the world in which we live, and have lost their spirituality.
ReplyDeletea stepping stone, but one where we can leave an impression as well..while this maybe a temproary home, it is one in which we can make a difference...
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely beautiful.. The thought is magical.. You've got yourself a new follower! :)

ReplyDeleteCarrie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a most beautiful poem. In fact I think it is really a prayer in many ways. The journey of life, in your words....
