Silence Has a Blackness

Come join us!

There are times when silence has the loudest voice. ~Leroy Brownlow

I was raised in a house
that made more sounds
than the voices that it held
 creeks in the night
whistling windows
steps that whined louder
 than a child wanting more
old secrets walked the rooms
with colorful voices
that only faith and children
could truly see
silence has a blackness
darker than coal
but it always catches the light
brightly once truth has a chance to shine.

I Remember You in Melodies

Melody is, and ever will be, the very flower of music. ~August W. Ambros

I remember you in melodies
After silence has finally let go
Songs my heart still carries
from a life I once had known
thoughts conjured up like spirits
from a beat that was all our own
dancing on the beach barefoot
holding hands the whole way home
I remember you in lyrics
As the old Victrola plays our song
Where kisses linger so softly

The ones we shared all night long.

The Birth of Spring

If you want a copy of this lovely print you can get it HERE

I like to think a flower opens itself to outgrow its plantedness. That it yearns to be carried away. ~Author Unknown

Winter in all her harsh glory is still pregnant with the spring
And holds a beautiful hope in each and every leafless thing
Our eyes and hearts grow weary to see the new one’s face
To feel her warmer breeze and see her flowering grace
Her beauty is always welcomed and brings so much joy
A birth of a season as wonderful as a new baby girl or boy
Soon she will arrive and then winter will soon depart
And the beauty we have longed for will fill our eyes and hearts.
